Text Box: In my new book, Trading Card Treasures: Sharing Cherished Photographs by Carol Heppner, photograph trading cards explore the expressions of your life, made though the creativity of your photography combined with artistic embellishment. Photograph trading cards can be made to share with family, friends, and other card enthusiasts. Use them as invitations, greeting cards or frame them as tiny works of art.

Like artist trading cards, photograph trading cards make use of paper, metal, and textiles and these cards are traded with others. However, photograph trading cards are unique in that the crafter or artist uses their photographs as the main image on the trading card. Digital or traditional photographs and collages create spectacular cards. In this way, Photograph Trading Cards are very personalized – capturing memories, people, and places in time.

The projects in my book make use of mediums, supplies, and tools that most crafters and artists already own. However, you may find new mediums and tools to broaden artistic knowledge.

This book provides numerous layouts, techniques to enjoy, and plenty of ideas to help you to create an unlimited number of your own Trading Card Treasures. The cards are embellished with paper scraps and small artifacts that crafters keep around in their supplies, tending not to discard.

As you progress through the book and learn the techniques, you are encouraged to personalize the cards via your own design style and originality.  Layouts in the book serve as guidelines and stepping stones for creating cards.  Changing the colors, using different paper patterns, and combining different techniques from this book will create countless designs for your artistic expression. Imagination is inspired by the knowledge gained through this book, and life should be lived with imagination.
